Patrol Division consists of four specialized units: Community Policing, Directed
Patrol, Patrol, and Accident Investigation; also one full-time Animal Control Officer.
Captain Doug Baker is the Patrol Division Commander. Each officer assigned to the
division is a certified law enforcement officer in the State of Kansas. The Patrol
Division is located in the Sheriff’s Office Operations Building at the New Century
Air Center near the intersection of 159th Street and Moonlight Road. Contact the

The Patrol Division is the principal provider of law enforcement and other related safety services
to citizens residing in unincorporated Johnson County and in the cities of De Soto
and Edgerton which contract Municipal law enforcement services with the Sheriff’s
Office. The Division deploys Deputies on an around-the-clock basis over a 300 square
mile area to promptly respond to emergency and other calls for service, preserve
the peace, enforce state and other applicable criminal and traffic laws, investigate
vehicular accidents and apprehend violators of the law. The Division also directs
animal control activities in the unincorporated areas of the County.
The Division maintains 3 sub-stations centrally located from the Operations Building for Patrol
Deputies to quickly respond to citizen’s needs. These sub-stations are located in
De Soto, Edgerton, and Stilwell. (click for district map)
