Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Receives Grant for AED’s

Feb 6, 2017 - Johnson County (Kan.) The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has been given a grant for 16 HeartStart defibrillators to be placed in our patrol vehicles.  This generous donation was thanks to funding from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

Robin Heath who owns the local Firehouse Subs franchise, approached our deputies while they were eating lunch in her store.  She gave our deputies instructions on how to apply for the grant and wrote a letter of recommendation. After approval from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, the defibrillators have been received and placed in our patrol vehicles.

Mrs. Heath’s commitment to local first responders, her community and specifically the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is highly commendable.  Her efforts have provided valuable and necessary lifesaving equipment.

In 2005, the Firehouse Subs founders established the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, life-saving equipment, and educational opportunities to first-responders and public safety organizations. Through the non-profit 501(c)(3), Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has given more than $24 million to hometown heroes in 46 states, Puerto Rico and Canada.
